Over 1000 Migratory Birds Died in Sambar Lake, Rajasthan, India

Latest update on Mass mortality of water birds in Sambar Lake, Rajasthan, India, is that the number of dead birds goes beyond 1000 and total 25 species of birds died. Carcasses suggest that it few of these birds could have died a month ago.
The dead birds include Pallas’s Gull, Redshank, Gull-billed tern, Stints, Plovers, Avocets, Shovelers, Sandpipers, Ruddy Shelduck, and many more. An estimated 25 species.

Forest dept. staff consisting of ACF and others, the tehsildar and a team of veterinary doctors visited the site. Vets collected samples which have sent for further investigation. Results are expected in 2-3 days. Vets have advised to dispose the carcasses in deep pits with limestone.

Updates are alarming, since the lake area is huge, number of dead birds is still not fully estimated.  FD is saying 1000,
Animal husbandry is saying 2500. 
Today volunteers found approx 3000 more. Unconfirmed claims are pointing that it's 10K+ dead birds.
