Udayanidhi Stalin, secretary of DMK Youth Team, arrested for protesting the Citizenship Bill
The Citizenship Amendment Bill has been passed in both Houses of Parliament amid opposition from opposition parties. Students and civilians are protesting in the Northeastern states, including Assam and Tripura, condemning the bill.
Opposition parties throughout the country are carrying out a struggle. The demonstration was held at Saidapet in Chennai under the leadership of Udaya Nidhi Stalin, Youth Team Secretary on behalf of DMK in Chennai. The DMKs then raised their voice against the central government. A copy of the Citizenship Amendment Bill was torn down.
Following this, the police arrested Udayanidhi Stalin and DMK executives.
