Rahul Dravid became the coach of Team India, will start his tenure from this series


The BCCI announced on Wednesday that former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid will be the new head coach of Team India. The Cricket Advisory Committee of Sulakshana Naik and RP Singh appointed Rahul Dravid as the head coach of Team India (Senior Men). The former India captain will take charge from the upcoming home series against New Zealand.

The BCCI in its press release wrote, “The Board congratulates Shastri (Former Team Director and Head Coach), B Arun (Bowling Coach), R Sridhar (Fielding Coach) and Vikram Rathor (Batting Coach) on their successful tenures. Shastri Under his leadership, the Indian cricket team took a bold and fearless approach and performed brilliantly both at home and away. India climbed to the top spot in the Test format and made it to the final of the inaugural World Test Championship in England.”

On Rahul Dravid taking over as coach, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, “BCCI has welcomed Rahul Dravid as the head coach of India’s senior men’s team. Rahul has had an illustrious playing career and is one of the greats of the game. He has served Indian cricket with distinction as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Rahul’s endeavor at the NCA has nurtured many young cricketing talents who have represented the country at international level. That his new tenure will take Indian cricket to new heights.”
